Finally, some good news for Xbox team at Microsoft. According to report from VGChartz, Microsoft sold 721,569 units over Black Friday week in the US for the week ending November 29. Without doubt, it was the top selling console in the US beating Sony PS4. VGChartz also notes that Xbox One sales have set a new record for console sales over Black Friday week in video game history.
To compare, the Wii sold 383,499 units in its second Black Friday week back in 2007 and is nearly on par with what the Wii sold in its peak year in 2008. That year the Wii sold 766,179 units Black Friday week.
To boost Xbox One sales, Microsoft announced that Xbox One consoles, including special edition bundles Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle and Xbox One Limited Edition Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Bundle, will be available starting at $329, in the U.S. Xbox One was originally launched last year for $499 with Kinect sensor. Earlier this year, Microsoft unbundled Kinect to drop the console price to $399. Earlier this month, they announced the special promotional pricing of $349 for the holiday sesason. The price was down to $329 for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Consumers basically got $70 off the original console price on these days.
