Surface Pro 2 firmware fix

Microsoft released a firmware update for Surface Pro 2 users in December and then later pulled it due to issues caused by the update. Microsoft then said, “To ensure the best experience for our customers during the holiday season, we have taken steps to remove the update for Surface Pro 2 that was previously published through Windows Update on December 10,” and even confirmed that they are working to release an alternative update package after the holidays. Today, there are reports that Microsoft Surface Pro 2 users are receiving firmware update dated 18/01/2014. Microsoft is yet to confirm whether this is the fix for the firmware update released last month or something different.
