Report: Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL may miss Diwali shopping season in India

diwali gifts

A bit like Christmas, Diwali is a celebration in India where money is spent rather freely and gifts are exchanged. It is a rather good time therefore to introduce an expensive high end smartphone, even if the the buyer is only gifting it to themselves.

We had earlier reported on a rumour that Microsoft will be introducing the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL to India in time for Diwali, which is on the 11th November.

Now NokiaPowerUser reports, from their sources, that it appears the device has been delayed, and will now only get to India by the end of November.

Microsoft has already imported a 1000 display units of the handsets into the country, suggesting the device may become available to pre-order before this, and we hope Microsoft finds a way to still tap into the holiday season vs launching a handset at the equivalent of mid-January.
