The Lumia line has had a good run, but if reports are to be believed, that run is at an end.
A report coming out from Windows Central claims that the long rumoured Lumia 650 will be announced on February 1st, it will also be the last Lumia device. There will be no event or press conference like there was for the 640 series, instead Microsoft will sneak it out on the Microsoft devices blog along with details of availability and pricing. After that, there will most likely be no more mobile devices from Microsoft until their new, true flagship handset is ready later this year.
The Lumia 650 is said to feature the following specs:
- Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210 (or 212)
- 5-inch 720p display
- 2000 mAh battery
- 8 megapixel camera
- Front-facing speaker
An earlier report claimed that the device would retail at nearly $200, putting it above the pricing of better specced Android models. If this is the case, then the Lumia line is being sent out with a whimper.
