Report: Huawei To Become Windows Phones OEM In China From First Half Of 2012

In May last year, Huawei said that it will probably bring a Windows Phone device to market next year. According to sources of Digitimes, its going to happen as announced before.

Despite unfavorable market conditions, Nokia is expected to launch its first batch of Windows Phones in China in the first half of 2012, and Huawei will also begin to develop Windows Phones during the period, the sources revealed.

Digitimes also reports that Windows Phone may face a stiff competition against the low-end Android devices in China due to aggressive marketing  by local vendors including ZTE, Huawei Device, Coolpad and Xiaomi Technology. I hope Windows Phone Tango along with strong OEM partners such as Nokia, ZTE, Huawei and may be Lenovo too can compete strong enough to capture the biggest mobile phone market in the world.

We have to wait till MWC 2012 next week for more details on Microsoft and its OEM partners plan for China.
