Samsung failed to deliver on its promise. Huawei is yet to announce a proper release date. To sum it up, the future of Folding smartphones looks uncertain. Experts, however, say otherwise, they are still hopeful about the new category.
Data from Energias Market Research reveals that the future of folding smartphones is bright. The research paper says that global foldable phones market might hit a CAGR of 24.6% during 2019-2025.
It also says that folding devices that fold outward will be growing at a faster rate compared to the inward folds. The main issue with the inward folding smartphones, according to Energias Market Research, is the crease formation in the middle of the screen, which put the design language at a disadvantage.
Moreover, it’s expected that Android will dominate the folding category, with Asia-Pacific holding the major share during the period.
