Report: Apple to start online sales of its products in India

Due to Indian government laws, Apple was not able to sell its own products directly in India. Apple was relying on retail distributors and e-commerce platforms like Flipkart and Amazon to sell its products. Recently, Indian government relaxed its rules that allowed companies like Apple to start their own retail stores in the country. Bloomberg today reported that Apple is planning to launch its online store in India in the coming months. In addition, Apple is also planning to open its first physical retail store in Mumbai, India’s finance capital. But this physical store will be opened only next year.

In order to avoid import taxes, Apple is also planning to locally manufacture iPhone in India. Apple has partnered with Foxconn to setup a manufacturing unit in India.
