Red Dead Redemption 2 release date may have leaked through a Danish retailer

Online retailers have a history of accidentally leaking the existence of games or their respective release dates before an official public announcement, and this time one such leak is surrounding Red Dead Redemption 2.

Game Informer reports that Danish retailer Coolshop listed Red Dead Redemption 2’s release date as June 8, 2018. While this date was only up for a brief time and has now been corrected to say 2018, there’s reason to believe it could be legitimate.

Coolshop is notable as being the retailer who correctly leaked Grand Theft Auto V’s release date ahead of schedule. Both GTA V and RDR2 are developer by Rockstar Games. June 8, 2018 also happens to fall on a Friday, which is a common date for game launches aside from Tuesday. In addition, Rockstar has already stated that Red Dead Redemption 2 would release Spring 2018, and June 8 just squeezes into the last few weeks of Spring.

Despite the evidence, this date is still a rumor so take it with a grain of salt. Rockstar already delayed RDR2 once, let’s hope the company doesn’t need to again. To tide you over until then, you can view its trailer below. You can pre-order Red Dead Redemption 2 from the Microsoft Store for $59.99.
