Recession over already? So says HTC

htcup Maybe not world-wide, but Jack Tong, vice president of Asia business at High Tech Computer is claiming the Asia-Pacific mobile phone market is certainly looking up in Q2 2009.

Based on strong Windows Mobile- and Android-phone sales, HTC projects its Asia-Pacific revenues for the second quarter will improve significantly as compared to the first quarter, Tong stated.

Both the HTC Touch Diamond2 which is set to be released soon, and the HTC Touch Pro 2, which will be released before the end of Q2 2009 is expected to buoy HTC revenue.

Asia-Pacific markets currently contribute over 20% to HTC’s total revenues, trailing Europe’s 39% and North America’s 36%, according to company sources.
