Microsoft released Cortana Digital Assistant as part of Windows Phone 8.1 preview last month. There are more than a million Windows Phone 8.1 preview users and I’m sure most of them rely on Cortana everyday for various purposes. Just in case to avoid any lawsuit from end users, Microsoft has included the following clause in their End User Licensing Agreement for Cortana,
“Like a real-world personal assistant, sometimes Cortana may (i) draw an inaccurate conclusion about what is important to you, (ii) infer information that accurately reflects you but that you are uncomfortable sharing with others, or (iii) remember some information about you that is no longer true or relevant today. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability or timeliness of inferences and personalized experiences provided by Cortana.”
Basically, they just want you to remind that this is a artificial digital system that could go wrong at times.
