Rainbow Six Siege will be free to play next weekend on Xbox One

Ubisoft has announced that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will be free to play next weekend on Xbox One.

The free weekend will run from February 15-20. While the announcement doesn’t appear to specify, usually you need an active Xbox Live Gold membership to take part in offers like this. As always any in-game progress you make will carry over if you purchase the full game. For some added incentive to buy the game, Rainbow Six Siege is currently 50% off until February 12 on the Microsoft Store.

Over 25 million players have already jumped into Rainbow Six Siege, and Ubisoft is looking to increase that number ahead of the game’s free Outbreak event.

The Outbreak event will begin on March 6 for everyone and last through April 3. As detailed by Ubisoft, Outbreak is “a special, time-limited co-op event in which a team of up to three players must infiltrate the Quarantine Zone in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico to battle an extraterrestrial infestation that has turned the locals into horrible creatures.”

Rainbow Six Siege has hosted free weekends before, so if you miss out this time you’ll likely have another chance to try it out sometime in the future.
