Microsoft today released a new Windows 10 Mobile build (10549) to Insiders on the fast ring with a couple of new features and lots of improvements. If you are running Windows 10 Mobile Build 10536 and not seeing any new builds on Windows Update — don’t fret, it’s not only you. According to Microsoft’s Gabriel Aul, you will have to downgrade to Windows Phone 8.1 to be able to get Windows 10 Mobile Build, which is, indeed, pretty annoying. Microsoft stated:
We discovered a bug late last night that caused phones upgrading from Build 10536 to get stuck at a black screen after this new build is installed. Rather than making you wait a little bit longer for us to fix this bug – we decided to release this build as a single update from Windows Phone 8.1.
If you don’t want to go back to Windows Phone 8.1, you will be glad to know that the next Windows 10 Mobile build should fix this issue and allow you to upgrade from Build 10536.
@DeanosT01 We won't be fixing this build and revving it, we'll look to fix in future build and flight that one. Expect at least a week out.
