We have seen other barcode scanning apps for Windows Phone 7, but all the ones in Marketplace are forced to use the Pictures Hub API to access the camera, a less than smooth experience.

PSA, by Diomexunusually for a Marketplace app  offers scanning directly from an embedded video stream in their latest update, not yet in Marketplace.  As far as we know this API is still private, which makes it pretty interesting to see if the app will eventually be approved.

Certainly one we will be keeping our video camera on.
