Microsoft today released a new and modern Office for Mac. This is a preview version and the final version of it will be released in the second half of 2015. You will receive regular updates automatically until the official release in the second half of 2015.

Yes, you can use the preview builds of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook for Mac alongside Office for Mac 2011. Every build will expire roughly 60 days after it is posted. The last preview build will continue to function for roughly a month after our official launch date. The new Office for Mac is officially supported on machines running Yosemite (10.10).
