AT&T announced the Nokia Lumia 830 today, with the handset prices at $99.99 on contract and $449.99 commitment-free.
Given the positioning of the handset the price did not strike me immediately as an issue, but Paul Thurrott has has expressed the view that the handset should in fact cost $315 commitment-free and presumably free on contract.
Personally I believe the Nokia Lumia 830 is a gorgeous device that takes strongly after the premium Nokia Lumia 930, with numerous high end features, which except for the processor compares very well with the iPhone 6. A starting price of free on contract would just not do the device justice.
