Photosynth for Windows Phone 8 finally in testing

Last year we waited much longer than expected for a Windows Phone 7 Photosynth 360 degree panorama app.

Now with the launch of Windows Phone 8 it seems a bit of the same is going on, with the old app not being available in the Windows Phone 8 store, and a new app also not available at launch when WP8 was made generally available.

All is not lost however, as the Photosynth team recently tweeted “News: WP8 Photosynth "lens" app is in final testing. Will be released as soon as we’ve verified it on some final WP8 phones!”

This is great news, as while Nokia’s Panorama lens is OK, it has the annoying habit of losing my position (which I would not have thought possible with a gyroscope installed) which I hope Microsoft’s own app will not have.

Have our WP8-totting readers been waiting for this app? Let us know below.
