Parallels 11 gets released, brings Cortana to the Mac

If you’re a Mac owner, you’ll be glad to know that Parallels 11 is here. The company has just released Parallels 11, and it packs Windows 10 support and more. Just like the previous versions of the software, you’re still able to use Windows 10 inside OS X Yosemite (full support for El Capitan will be available later). However, one of the most interesting features of Parallels 11 is the ability to use Cortana right on your OS X desktop. Yep, you can use Cortana on your Mac just by triggering the personal assistant with the voice command “hey Cortana”.

The company has released a video demoing Cortana on OS X, take a look:

Alongside Cortana, Parallels 11 apparently comes with a lot of performance improvements – according to the company, the software will start-up and shutdown Windows around 50% quicker than the company’s last release.

Parallels 11 is available for $80 – however, if you own Parallels 9 or 10, you’ll be able to upgrade for $50. It’s worth noting that there’s a Parallels 11 for Mac Pro Edition, which offers a better experience when it comes to performance but costs $100 per year – and if you own Parallels 9 or 10, you’ll be able to get it for only $50.
