Blizzard Entertainment has officially launched the highly anticipated Stadium mode in Overwatch 2, offering a fresh twist on the beloved hero shooter. Released on April 22, Stadium is more than just a new game mode—it’s a bold reimagining of how Overwatch can be played.
Developed by the Overwatch team, Stadium introduces new strategic elements, letting players enhance their heroes with unique powers and builds. Inspired by Hearthstone’s Battlegrounds, the mode ditches randomness, giving players full control to craft powerful combos that suit their playstyle.

The addition of a third-person perspective is a first for Overwatch. This welcome move lets players toggle between first- and third-person views for a new layer of tactical depth. Alongside the mode’s fast-paced, “best of” skirmishes, players will experience dynamic upgrades and game-altering items like Ana’s wall-penetrating Nano Boost or Reaper’s rapid-fire shotguns.
Overwatch 2’s Stadium mode is designed to grow, with new heroes, maps, and features planned each season. Blizzard has emphasized ongoing updates and player feedback to shape Stadium into a long-term, evolving experience.
