If you are a Dropbox user, better change your password today. Few hours back, a series of posts have been made to Pastebin which included login credentials for hundreds of Dropbox accounts. That pastebin post author claimed that he has altogether 6,937,081 account credentials which have been compromised.

It was confirmed that some of the leaked credentials work. The hackers also claim that they are ready to release more login credentials if they receive donations to their bitcoin address. Dropbox provided the following statement regarding the leaked,

Dropbox has not been hacked. These usernames and passwords were unfortunately stolen from other services and used in attempts to log in to Dropbox accounts. We’d previously detected these attacks and the vast majority of the passwords posted have been expired for some time now. All other remaining passwords have been expired as well.

Better change the password associated with Dropbox!
