Outlook’s all new search experience is now available for Insiders on iOS

Back in July, Microsoft revealed all new search experience for Outlook mobile devices. This new search experience is now available to try for Office Insiders on iOS.

As part of the new search experience, Microsoft has added a dedicated tab in the simplified navigation bar. This allows users to easily find mail content no matter where they are in the app. To make the search experience simpler, Microsoft will display contextual information right away, without the need to first type in a search box. When the users tap the search button, they will have access to their top contacts, upcoming travel itineraries, package deliveries and recent attachments.

Thanks to unified search capability, users can search for emails, files, and contacts in a single search box at the same time. And the search covers both work and personal accounts. Users can also use the new filters feature to narrow down the search results more quickly. For example, they can search for emails only with an attachment.

The Contacts and Files experience have been integrated into the Search tab, so that with a same number of clicks or less, you can get to emails from a contact, details about a contact or create a new contact.

If you are not part of Outlook Insider program on iOS, sign up now to access to TestFlight builds.
