The original versions of Darksiders 1 & 2 head to Backward Compatibility alongside Assassin’s Creed Revelations

Backward Compatibility lets you play a variety of Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One, and it doesn’t cost you a single penny if you already own the games – you just need to either put the disc in your Xbox One or check the ready to install section in My Games & Apps. The library of participating games keeps on growing, and today’s update is an interesting one: every single game added today is already available on the Xbox One.

Today’s titles are Darksiders (which was released as Darksiders Warmasted Edition), Darksiders 2 (which became Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition), and Assassin’s Creed Revelations (which is included in The Ezio Collection). It’s certainly strange, but means that people who already own the original versions of these games won’t have to pay a single penny to experience them again on the Xbox One, even if they won’t be running at native 1080p.

It is worth noting that despite being included in Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection, Assassin’s Creed Revelations – like all other games included – lost its multiplayer modes when it was brought over. Playing the game through Backward Compatibility is the only way to play it with friends on the Xbox One, so if you’re into that you might opt for the original version over the remaster. It’s also worth noting that both Darksiders 1 and Revelations will be in April’s Games with Gold, so you’ll be able to grab them for free then.

You can find each of the games in the Xbox 360 Marketplace by following the links below.

Do you already own any of these games for the Xbox 360 (or the Xbox One versions of each game)? Will you be playing them again soon? Let us know in the comments below!
