Opera says no major updates are planned for their Windows Phone app in the next few months

Opera first released their stable version of Opera Mini for Windows Phone in June 2015 and since then they have released minor updates every now and then to improve the overall experience. Today, they announced that they have no major updates are planned for the next few months. Basically, the project will be on hold. Opera will review the platform later this year to decide on further development.

They also confirmed that they don’t have enough resource in bringing out an universal Windows app. Even though they considered porting Opera Mini iOS using Windows Bridge for iOS, it was not possible due to tech limitations. Do you use Opera Mini on your Windows Phone device? If you are looking for alternatives, look at UCWeb in Windows Store.
