This year, OnePlus has launched as many as three budget smartphones, and the trend will continue in the next year as well, as the company wants to focus more on the budget segment. We recently reported about the company’s upcoming budget smartphone, OnePlus Nord SE, but that’s not the only budget smartphone that OnePlus will be releasing next year.
According to famous tipsterĀ Max Jambor, OnePlus has started working on OnePlus Nord 2, a successor to this year’s Nord smartphone. The tipster has confirmed to Phone Arena that ‘Denniz’ is the codename that OnePlus employees have chosen for the Nord 2, though he didn’t share other important details regarding the product, leaving us in the dark about the specs, price, and release date of the smartphone. Nevertheless, we finally got the confirmation that an OnePlus Nord successor is in the works.

While we don’t about the specs of the OnePlus Nord 2, it won’t be outrageous to think that the second-generation Nord will have some improvements over the first-generation Nord. However, what improvements we will see in the Nord 2 is anybody’s guess at this point in time. The release date is not known either, though we’re willing to bet that the Nord 2 will be released in the June/July timeframe. That said, OnePlus might give us a surprise by either preponing or postponing the release date. Whatever the case may be, we don’t expect OnePlus Nord to release before the OnepPlus 9 series, which is all set to launch in mid-March.
