Microsoft’s is preparing its monthly OneNote improvement, and Office Insiders can get an early peek by downloading OneNote version 17.8730.2008. Its an early preview of the upcoming November update, and it adds a particularly useful feature for those who use Surface pros and similar tablets for note-taking.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Speedy search: Search just got faster! Your search results now appear instantaneously, making it easier to get back to your notes.
  • Tilt to shade: Use your new Surface Pen and the pencil tool to write or sketch ideas. Tilt the stylus to do shading, just like a real pencil.

Microsoft’s previous update came just a few days ago, so one would expect the next update for OneNote to roll out at the end of November. This OneNote update can be snagged from the Windows Store here.
