Office 365’s redesigned app launcher ditches tiles for a much simpler user interface

Microsoft is today rolling out a brand new design for the app launcher in Office 365. The company is ditching the classic tiles UI for the app launcher and replacing it with a cleaner design that’s easier to navigate. The new app launcher in Office 365 includes two different sections: Apps and Documents. The Apps section includes all of your most popular Office 365 apps at first glance, but clicking on All Apps will take you to the full list of apps available on your Office 365 where you can use the search feature to easily open up an app you are looking for. The new launcher lets you pin Office 365 apps and custom apps just like before, so that it’s easier to access them from the main page.

The documents section, on the other hand, is just a list of your most recent documents that are stored on OneDrive/SharePoint. You can find a demo of the new Office 365 app launcher below:

The new Office 365 app launcher is rolling out to those part of First Release, and it will be widely released later on.
