On May 15th, Obsidian rolled out the 1.4 update for Grounded, packing in new content and improvements across the board. Players can now face three new bosses, Tiger Mosquito, Roly Poly, and Spiny Water Flea, each with unique attack patterns and gear unlocks. Boss loot includes fresh armor sets and weapons that change up late-game strategies.
The Obsidian Grounded 1.4 update also revamps the base-building system. Players get more control with new snapping mechanics, curve pieces, and snapping points. Building feels less clunky and much faster.

Custom Game settings received a serious overhaul. Obsidian introduced over 70 new toggles, letting players tweak health values, enemy aggression, loot drop rates, and more. Whether you’re in for a chill backyard hike or brutal survival, the update hands over control.
Mutations got expanded too, with Brainpower levels now tied to more rewards. Quality-of-life improvements like UI tweaks, better creature behaviors, and balance adjustments round out the update.
Obsidian didn’t just patch bugs, they retooled the experience. The 1.4 update gives players more to fight, build, and tune, whether they’re new or deep into the late game. It’s live now on Xbox, PC, and Game Pass.
