On May 20, 2024, Google Cloud and Nvidia launched a new developer platform that directly integrates Nvidia’s AI tools with Google Cloud infrastructure. This move gives developers faster, simpler access to tools like Nvidia’s NIM microservices, which help speed up the creation of AI-powered apps.

The companies announced this during the Google I/O developer conference. Developers can now launch AI models on Google Kubernetes Engine using Nvidia’s pre-built containers with just a few commands. This cuts setup time and removes the need to manage infrastructure details manually.

Google Cloud also rolled out Colab Enterprise, an upgraded version of its Colab notebooks. It works with Vertex AI and gives developers direct access to Nvidia’s GPUs and software. This means teams can build and test generative AI features inside tools they already use.

By merging Google’s data centers with Nvidia’s processing power, the new platform brings AI prototyping and deployment closer to real-time. Developers no longer need to stitch together services from multiple vendors. Instead, they can focus on building smarter, faster apps.
