Finnish Nokia Lumia owners can now turn to their Windows Phone to catch up on TV from their local stations.

Nokia has confirmed the existence of Nokia TV for their Nokia Lumia handsets in April this year. The application is a streaming TV service for local Finnish broadcasters and allows users to browse or search through the available catalogues of catch-up TV services from major local broadcasters and then stream a chosen show directly to their phone, all without sign up or registration.

The Nokia TV app is now in Marketplace and features:

  • Browse lists of television services available locally at a single site.
  • Search all services available at one time
  • Select to start playing immediately.

There is no direct link, but the app can be found by searching Marketplace.

Unfortunately at the time of the announcement of the app Nokia did not reveal any plans to expand beyond Finland.
