Nokia first revealed this upcoming Refocus Lens app for Pureview Lumia devices at Nokia World. The Refocus lens app captures different images over the entire focus range and allows you to refocus on the subject you want in the photo you captured later on. This allows you to capture a photo without worrying about whether the subject is in focus or not.
Nokia Refocus calculates and creates a depth map on the scene in front of you. When you press the camera shutter key it takes a number of photos, each at a different focus stage and produces a photo with a focus that can be adjusted whenever you feel like it. This not only simplifies how you take a photo, but also gives you endless editing opportunities.
If you notice something in the foreground that you didn’t spot before, focus on it. Plus, if you want the entire shot to be in focus, Nokia Focus can do that with just one click too. This works especially well if you’re trying to take a macro (close-up) photo. While close-up photos look amazing and full of detail, by nature they tend to leave the background out-of-focus. Nokia Refocus can keep the close-up in focus, including the rest of the scene.
The real beauty is that the Nokia Refocus isn’t just about being able to refocus your photos on your own phone, you can even share these photos on Facebook or on the web, and allow others to refocus on the subject they want in the photo. This Nokia Refocus app will be available for the Nokia Lumia 920, Lumia 925, Lumia 928, Lumia 1020, and Lumia 1520 devices in the coming weeks.
