Responding to a question about when a Nokia Lumia 800 will be getting the Windows Phone 7.8 update, Nokia Russia’s twitter account has confirmed that the Nokia Lumia 7.8 update has been stopped.

While this is common knowledge by now, Microsoft has been communicating very little around the Windows Phone 7.5 software update, making this the first official confirmation from some-one close to Microsoft that the roll-out has indeed been halted.

The update, which in the main only updated the start screen and lock screen, has shown itself to be very buggy, with Live Tile issues causing high battery and data usage.

Hopefully Microsoft will solve these issues and restart the roll-out before we start waiting for the Windows Phone 8.5 update.
