Nokia makes deal with Phone Waterproofing company, tech may come to handsets soon

GSMArena reports that Nokia has signed a deal with P2i, a company which specializes in  nano-coating phones internally and externally to make them water-repellent.

GSMArena predicts the upcoming Lumia 1000 EOS with the PureView sensor could be the first handset with the technology.

The advantage of this type of protection is that it doesn’t involve the vacuum caps and lids, which some devices feature, allowing phone to have all the usual open spots like a headphone jack, micro USB port, etc.

If true, hopefully we will not have to wait to 2014 for the tech to show up on our phones.
