Nokia Lumia 900 maintains top position on Amazon, analyst optimistic

The Nokia Lumia 900 has managed to hold on to the top position in Amazon’s Best Seller phone ranking, believed to be a good indicator of overall sales in the US.

In response RBC Capital‘s Mark Sue reiterated an Outperform rating on shares of Nokia, and a $9 price target, writing that the company is “coming to America in a big way,” and that the two companies are “spending bucks to find relevance.”

Sue lays out some hopeful notes for Lumia, writing that “Thus far we would characterize the uptake of Nokia’s Lumia 710 and 800 as ‘decent’,” adding that “For the 900 series, feedback, while early, seems constructive on the hardware and start screen’s live tiles.”

If the Nokia Lumia 900 can maintain good performance over the next few weeks it may have a halo effect on all Windows Phone sales overall, with the OS being legitimized as a real competitor in the smartphone OS battle.
