Today’s leaked pictures of the Nokia Lumia 1520 compared to the Sony Xperia Z provides the opportunity for the best measurements of the handset yet.
The Xperia Z is 139 x 71 x 7.9mm, and when the above picture is scaled to those same dimensions we can see the Nokia Lumia 1520 is in fact 157 x 82 mm big. This makes the device somewhat bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which is 151.2 x 79.2, but of course the differences are not dramatic. Knowing the size of the device also allows us to measure the size of the screen, which comes to 72x129mm, and via some Pythagoras at a 147.7mm diagonal, or exactly 5.8 inches. So while the device is slightly bigger than the SG Note 3, it also has a larger screen, and it shows Nokia has done an excellent job minimizing the bezel.
Thanks Corradix for informing us that the device is actually the Xperia Z1, not Xperia Z. That device is 144 x 74 mm, which is about 5% bigger than the Xperia Z.
This translates into the Nokia Lumia 1520 being 165.5×85 mm big, and the screen being 154.7 mm diagonal, or nearly exactly 6 inches.
