Nokia has said it has concluded their investigation into the misleading promotional video for the Optical Image Stabilization on the Nokia Lumia 920. The video now makes it clear that it is a “simulation of OIS technologyâ€, a warning which was missing from the original release.
In a written statement, a Nokia spokeswoman said the findings from the internal investigation "confirmed that poor judgment was exercised in the use of the [marketing] materials." She added that Nokia has taken "appropriate action" as a result of the findings, but did not reveal what these were.
While the issue may be perceived by some as a PR disaster for the company, it did help keep the Nokia Lumia 920 and its camera features in the lime light, which is not a completely bad thing, given the news cycle surrounding the announcement of the iPhone 5.
