Nokia And Viewsonic In Talks Over Android Patent Case Settlement

FOSS Patents today reported that Nokia and Viewsonic are in talks over settlement regarding the Android patent case going on between these two companies. Nokia’s lead counsel in various German cases, Klaus Haft confirmed that talks are ongoing and that both sides are willing to strike a deal.

While Microsoft has already signed several Android patent licensing deals, Nokia is yet to capitalize on its vast IP pool. Nokia sued HTC and Viewsonic over Android patents last year and we can expect more such action from Nokia in the future. Google, the primary developer of Android is not yet ready to support its OEMs whole heartedly on their patent battle related to Android with other companies.
