The fix, which requires 3 registry entries to be added, needs a developer unlocked device unfortunately, but as the video shows works like a charm.
The keys which need to be added are:
HKLM\Drivers\Display\Primary\PrimBPP dword 32
HKLM\Drivers\Display\Primary\bpp dword 32
HKLM\Drivers\Display\Primary\PanelBPP dword 32
