No app sharing for Windows Mobile 6.5 after all

Share2 It comes as no surprise really, but out overly generous understanding of how app authentication in Windows Mobile 6.5 will work has proven to be wrong.

While the user will still be able to install the same application to 5 smartphones associated with his LiveID, they will be unable to install the applications on some-one else’s smartphone, meaning if a family want to share apps they will either need to all use the same LiveID (less than ideal these days when it is also used in Social Networks) or buy applications outside Marketplace.

In this case rampant rumour ran ahead of reality, but the feature as earlier understood is pretty desirable, and Microsoft should probably think about actually implementing this viral element in the future.
