NFC payments for Windows Phone to shut down on the 31st March in USA

Well, Softcard has now given Windows Phone users a date for their marching orders.

The Softcard service is shutting down after its patents and technology, and also industry relations with US carriers were purchased by Google and at the time Softcard said their Windows Phone app will continue working until that event.

Now Softcard has published the date for the termination of their service – on the 31st March 2015. Android users are encouraged to switch to Google Wallet, which will now enjoy prominent placement on most Android handsets sod by carriers.

With no alternative service in USA, this means Windows Phone users there have a mere 26 days to continue to enjoy Tap to Pay NFC payments before once again not having access to the feature. Happy shopping…
