Next version of Windows is reportedly being codenamed as “Redstone”

Windows

Microsoft recently released Windows 10 to Windows Insider and the company will release Windows 10 to the public in this summer. Now, Neowin’s Brad Sams is reporting that the next version of Windows, expected to be released on 2016 is being codenamed as “Redstone”.

Unfortunately though, there isn’t much info on Redstone just yet but the codename is indeed pretty interesting. Microsoft has codenamed its recent projects from games, for example, Cortana and Spartan. And the latest codename, Redstone is a “block” from Minecraft – which Microsoft acquired last year.

It’s also worth mentioning that Microsoft is planning to release Windows Server in 2016 and it might be related to Redstone as well. Nonetheless, what do you think of the codename Redstone? Discuss in the comment section below!
