NewsSpot for Google Reader is now available with version 2.7.

New features include:

  • New artwork by zed martinez and an improved Italian translation by Alessandro Cocco.
  • Improved live tiles: being a bit late to the game of appealing live tiles, we catched up now and provide live tiles with unread count, heading and/or background image. The images are converted on our server in order to minimize their size and optimize their visual appearance (they are e.g. slightly dimmed to ensure the heading is readable even if the picture contains a lot of white).
  • New options for sharing and bookmarking: share via SMS or bookmark to Readability or Delicious or save your articles to Evernote.
  • Lots of other features and bug fixes.

Due to some unfortunate circumstances, NewsSpot had to be re-released as a new version. However, it will be FREE for a limited period of time!
