New Windows Mobile promotional push planned?

europe-central-small PDA.PL reports that Microsoft is planning to revive the Windows Mobile brand in Poland by opening up a new section called "Consumer & Online (C & O)"  to serve Central Europe, modelled after a successful earlier service in Russia.

The division is tasked with:

  • Enhancing the Windows Mobile brand in the market.
  • Promoting the release of  Windows Mobile 6.5.
  • Prepare the consumer for Windows Mobile 7.

We know Microsoft has recently earmarked $80-100 million for a new Windows Mobile advertising push, and with the recent internal changes it suggests Microsoft intends to make rather a big deal out of Windows Mobile 6.5.
