New Verizon HTC Touch Pro firmware unlocks GPS, brings visual voicemail

verizontouchpro Phonenews.com reports that Verizon is set to release new firmware, version 1.08 for  HTC Touch Pro, which will bring a host of new features.

The first is the unlocking of the GPS receiver on the device, meaning GPS functionality in applications like Google Maps and Windows Live Search for Mobile will work without issue.

The next is the addition of Visual Voice mail which debuted on the Samsung Omnia on Verizon, and will come at a $3/month charge.

Lastly is improvements in voice quality due to the addition of new audio codecs.
