The original Samsung Galaxy View is a rather unique device – an 18.4 tablet which was certainly never designed to leave to home, but more to act as a portable screen for media consumption.
While a niche device, the tablet must have been popular enough to justify a successor, as new renders have been leaked by SamMobile of the Samsung Galaxy View 2, which features a slightly updated design.
While the older device had a Surface-like stand, the new device features a folding hinge which also served double duty as a stand when the device was turned upside down.
The Galaxy View 2 is not the most powerful device, with specs leaked by early benchmarks showing an Exynos 7885 CPU and 3GB of RAM, but the Android operating system is expected to feature several tweaks that adapt it specifically for its role as a portable TV of sorts.
SamMobile notes the leaked renders suggest the device is likely to launch soon, with the render suggesting Samsung will once again partner with AT&T.
