From time to time when browsing the internet you may come across a link you wish to open without leaving a permanent record on your PC, for example when buying a surprise birthday present for your wife.

Currently, in Edge, you have to copy the link, open an InPrivate window and then paste the URL in the address bar.

A new free extension by Nov7 called OpenInPrivate makes that task a lot easier, by letting you simply right click on a link and choose to “open as InPrivate.

There is nothing much else to the utility, and the only permission it asks is to access links on your PC, presumably needed to implement the feature.

Grab the extension from the Windows Store here.
