Bing Vision is good for more than just scanning QRcodes, but if you speak to any Windows Phone 7 user outside of USA they would not really know about it.
That’s because features such as price comparison, product reviews and identifying DVDs and so forth is not enabled outside of USA in most cases.
Now Professor Thibault reports that the service has suddenly been switched on in France, allowing barcodes in products to be identified.
The only difference is that, instead of giving quick cards, the product identified links the Ciao.fr in the browser, a less convenient but probably more useful service, and one which likely gives a template for how Microsoft will enable services in areas where they do not have a good local presence.
