MWC15: Microsoft’s event round-up

Microsoft’s MWC 2015 event was short lived only lasting roughly 30 minutes which was a shock indeed. But we cant now do anything, so its time for a round-up for the entire event.

Here is the entire set of things announced and demoed!

Microsoft Lumia 640 XL

Above is  the brand-new phablet, the Lumia 640 XL which features brand-new specifications with a bigger display, battery and much more!

  • 9mm slim
  • Snapdragon 400


  • 189 euros for 3G variant
  • 219 euros for LTE variant


The phone will be available in Orange, Cyan, Black and White colours.

Microsoft Lumia 640

Following the Lumia 640 XL is its smaller and cheaper brother! The Lumia 640. It is cheaper and less interesting on paper and is pretty good as an upgrade over last year’s version.

  • 8MP camera with LED flash
  • Snapdragon 400


  • 139 euros for 3G variant
  • 159 euros for LTE variant


The phone will be available in similar colours as the the Lumia 640 XL i.e Black, White, Orange and Cyan.


Like the previous year’s LUmia 63x, we only has Single Sim, Dual Sim and LTE but now we have 4 variants namely Single Sim, Dual Sim, LTE and LTE Dual Sim.

For both the Lumia 640 and 640 XL, Microsoft is bundling 1TB Onedrive storage, 1 year Office 365 subscription and 60 World Skype minutes in 60+ countries.

The Office 365 subscription will include the Windows 10 for Phones Office suite, 1 for PCs and 1 for tablets for Windows, Android and iPads.

Brand-new Maps, Outlook and Messaging apps demoed

Microsoft has demoed the brand-new Maps, Outlook and Messaging apps were demoed! They include various new features with better UIs and UX.

The messaging app gives us the ability to Skype and message from the same app!
