More details of Windows Store gift cards revealed

Amazon had already leaked Windows Store gift cards a few weeks ago, but now twitter user Nawzil has posted some more information about the replacement for Microsoft Points.

The cards will be released with Windows 8.1, set to launch in 2 weeks, and Microsoft suggest retailers push them with purchase of new hardware.

According to the leaked documentation the cards will be usable with with the Windows, Windows Phone and Xbox Stores, and will be in $10, $25 and $50 increments.

The cards will be a good alternative to the now phased out Microsoft Points, and will allow Windows Phone users who do not have a credit card and who can not use carrier billing to still purchase apps and games.

Thanks A for the tip.
