CNBeta today published an internal presentation of upcoming version of Office for Mac. From the information on the presentation slides, we can confirm that Office for Mac is coming in either Q1 2015 or Q2 2015. Office for Mac beta is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
Microsoft has focused on four main things while developing the upcoming Office for Mac.
1) Modernization: They have updated the look and feel of Office for Mac to make it consistent with Office 2013 for Windows. It is now more modern and clean. Check the screenshots below.
2) Enterprise Ready Outlook: Outlook was recently added to Office for Mac suite. The first version is not feature complete and lacked several features that Outlook for Windows users enjoy. Now, the updated Outlook for Mac will feature all the enterprise features.
3) Services and Cloud Connected: Just like Office 2013 for Windows, Office for Mac will support native OneDrive, SharePoint integration.
4) OneNote for Mac: OneNote for Mac was released few months back and it is being updated regularly to make it equal to OneNote for Windows.
Excel will feature new quick access toolbar and new ways to visualize the data.
PowerPoint will feature the new presenter view.
