Microsoft’s Your Phone Android phone screen mirroring demoed on video

Microsoft’s Your Phone app is due get a great new feature – the ability to mirror your smartphone screen directly, allowing you to view and manipulate your phone beyond the capabilities of the app itself.

Microsoft is currently letting Insiders with a very select collection of devices test the feature – those on Insider builds with a recent Samsung Galaxy handset and a Surface Go.

The WC has now posted a hands-on video of the feature, letting the rest of us see it in action.

The most striking thing is that the latency and performance is very good, but also that the phone screen is somewhat wasted by the huge “bezels” of the rest of the Your Phone app UI – hopefully, that currently redundant button will allow it to go frameless.

The features, if stable should reach regular users in the coming months.

In the meantime, you can download the latest version from Microsoft Store here.
