comScore today released its report on key trends in the U.S. mobile phone industry during the three month average period ending April 2011. Microsoft’s smartphone marketshare was down to 6.7%Â from 8.0% in US in the end of April 2011. Its a 1.3% decrease despite the release of Windows Phone 7 under AT&T.
|US installed base||9||8.4||8||7.7||7.5||6.7|
We had in fact expected the market share numbers to start turning around this month, but in fact the market share loss suddenly widened, likely due to a rapid increase in Android and iPhone adoption.
I hope Windows Phone market share will increase once Nokia Windows Phones and ‘Mango’ Windows Phone devices get released under all 4 networks in US. What do you think?
