Microsoft’s Smartphone Marketshare Down To 6.7% In US

comScore today released its report on key trends in the U.S. mobile phone industry during the three month average period ending April 2011. Microsoft’s smartphone marketshare was down to 6.7%  from 8.0% in US in the end of April 2011. Its a 1.3% decrease despite the release of Windows Phone 7 under AT&T.

US installed base98.487.77.56.7
Percent loss0.

We had in fact expected the market share numbers to start turning around this month, but in fact the market share loss suddenly widened, likely due to a rapid increase in Android and iPhone adoption.

I hope Windows Phone market share will increase once Nokia Windows Phones and ‘Mango’ Windows Phone devices get released under all 4 networks in US. What do you think?
